Clive Owen appears to be going through a little bit of a sci-fi stage in his life as he has quickly signed on to another sci-fi project whilst still filming his current one, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. The Andrew Niccol-directed production Anon is a modern-day Blade Runner, though a lot less inspired.

Clive Owen will be playing a detective in a future world of no privacy; a world where everything is within the view of society. When he learns of a young woman who apparently doesn’t exist, he begins to question the world he is a part of and whether total transparency means complete safety or untold danger.

Niccol has directed the successful Gattaca and is no stranger to science-fiction. Consequently it shall be interesting to see whether Anon reaches the same heights. We shall next see Clive Owen in the comedy The Confirmation and we shall see how the sci-fi genre fits him when Valerian hits cinemas July 21, 2017.
