Connie Britton Joins Ryan Murphy’s ‘9-1-1’ Drama Series | TV News

Ryan Murphy‘s attraction to casting actors he’s already collaborated with continues, this time involving Connie Britton. Britton is set to join Murphy’s Fox drama 9-1-1, which already has Angela Bassett attached, another example of Murphy relying on American Horror Story alumni.

9-1-1 is an emergency responder themed drama, following the intense situations that police, paramedics, and firefighters find themselves in everyday. It’s yet another project from Ryan Murphy and Brian Falchuk, the creators/writers/producers of Glee, Scream Queens, and Nip/Tuck.

Connie Britton first collaborated with Murphy on American Horror Story: Murder House, playing Vivien Harmon. She then reunited on The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story, leading up to an upcoming third collaboratino on 9-1-1.

The 13-episode first season will premiere some time in the 2017-18 season.
