Corey Taylor Comments On Joey Jordison’s Departure | Music News

Slipknot-2015-2

Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor has spoken with Living Out Loud LA, regarding Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison’s 2013 departure from the band. In 2013, a statement was provided, chalking the departure down to “personal reasons”.

Speaking with Living Out Loud LA, Taylor gave more information about the departure, “It was hard at first, nothing worth doing is ever easy right out of the gate. When we parted ways with Joe, it was honestly because of necessity; he was going one way and we were going another, and we just couldn’t go that way anymore. And honestly, that’s all I can really say about it”.

Taylor continues, “It was just as hard, in a lot of ways, as trying to move on without Paul (Gray). But, like anything, it takes those first couple of steps, and then it gets a little easier. IT doesn’t get better by any means, by any stretch of the imagination, but it gets easier”. Slipknot’s most recent release, The Gray Chapter, was released in 2014, with the forthcoming record being described as their version of Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Heart Club Band, which will be a double album with an accompanying film.
