And so the inevitable clamour for rumours, spoilers, suppositions and sightings has begun again. Like children bored with their new toy, fans of Star Wars have already discarded The Force Awakens as old news and begun seeking out new information on its successor, the untitled Episode VIII.

Their efforts have been thorough; to the extent that drones are patrolling the skies of Star Wars sets to protect the picture’s secrets. So far they have been successful, and fans are still no closer to knowing who Benicio del Toro is playing, who Supreme Leader Snoke is, or what Luke has been doing in his exile.

However, Daisy Ridley revealed a mind-blowing fact about Episode VIII while at the Oscars on Sunday. It’s a doozy.

Speaking to MTV, Ridley revealed that Mark Hamill is “amazing“. Wow, what did I tell you?

In the same brief conversation, she claimed they “…have been rehearsing a lot, and it’s really amazing. When we went back to Skellig to do the opening of Episode VIII, it was so crazy doing the same scene with a different crew of people. He’s amazing to rehearse with, and I’m very excited to be doing the rest of the stuff.

She also had a little tidbit on the story, which was written by director Rian Johnson: “It’s such a good story. Seriously. Luke is so cool in this one. Really.

Well, it was never going to be an “I am your father” reveal.

It’s going to be a while before we have any solid information on Episode VIII, which we’re still calling Space Bear because we don’t know its real title yet. Star Wars: Episode VIII is scheduled for release on December 15, 2017 but we can look forward to Rogue One, the Star Wars anthology film that comes out December 16 this year.
