Dave Grohl Comments On Florence And The Machine Headlining Glastonbury | Music News

Dave Grohl, the frontman of the Foo Fighters has spoken out about his happiness that Florence And The Machine stepped into their headline spot at last month’s Glastonbury festival after Grohl injured his leg in a prior performance. Grohl spoke to Q magazine and told them he had met Florence Welch “ages ago” and that the pair “immediately hit it off“. “I was totally looking forward to playing with them at Glastonbury“, he said.

When we cancelled and they were searching for a replacement I prayed they’d just move them to the top of the bill because they fucking deserve to be there” Grohl added. “I was so excited when they announced they would, I emailed Florence to congratulate her. She gave me great advice for healing broken bones and said they were going to cover ‘Times Like These’. The day after the gig, someone sent me a link to the performance and I cried like a fucking baby. It melted my fucking heart. I am forever indebted to them. It meant so much, you have no idea“.
