Hailing from Washington D.C, David E Beats returned back to his music with a brand new EP Renai$$sance.
Renai$$sance is an energetic piece of music, which falls under Alternative/hip-hop genre. The track is full of mesmerising hooks with an excellent instrumentation that changes throughout the song.
The intro starts as any other rap piece we have seen so far; little bit aggressive with strong undertones however it doesn’t devolop this way throughout the album.
Near the outro, the instrumentation and rhythm takes a “U” turn. It makes the pieces mix with softer instrumentation while the rap also gets slower and mesmerising.
The Moments, The Four Tops, Aretha Franklin, and the grunge-rock sound of groups like Sound Garden and Nirvana were all influences on the artist as a child.
David E. Beats had never listened to rap music before the age of 15. He first became interested in hip hop after purchasing Jay Z‘s The Blueprint as his first rap album.
He soon discovered a talent for wordplay and began to rap, breaking into the scene by competing against other rappers.
“My rhymes were getting better and better over time”, Says David E Beats, “I was willing to take my music to the next level. I didn’t like the beats that were offered to me, so I decided to make my own.’’
David E. Beats realised it was time to up his game after passing up the opportunity to produce for Interscope recording artist Wale before he went viral in early 2008.
David E. Beats, torn between the stage and the production industry, decided to do both.
As a result, David E Beats’ debut mixtape project, David E Beats Blvd, was released in May 2009. It received excellent reviews and was featured on numerous important websites, including AllHipHop, OnSmash, and Global Grind, to name a few.
David E Beats, who is currently based in Toulouse, France, has been honing his skills in production, songwriting, mixing, guitar, piano, bass, and drums. In addition to posting beats and demo songs on social media, David E Beats is currently working on an album.
