David Fincher’s HBO Series Gets Official Title – ‘Shakedown’ | TV News

It wasn’t that long ago that news broke of David Fincher‘s plans to tackle the small screen for a new drama series on HBO and now, it seems the official title has been released. According to Deadline, the new series directed by Fincher and written by Black Dhalia author, James Ellroy, will be called; Shakedown.

The new series is now in development and is set in the underbelly of 1950’s Los Angeles, focusing on the world of tabloid newspapers and is inspired by real-life detective, Fred Otash. Otash started as a Hollywood vice cop, but then continued in a new career as a private eye detective. We are tremendously excited for this new series as together, Fincher and Ellroy make for one serious team! With a film noir theme, this new darker crime series is no doubt going to be an audience pleaser as well as sophisticated in form! We’re ready to learn all about Fred Otash!
