Davina Oriakhi aka DAVINA has unveiled a brand new title named “Pray For Me“. Based in London, the artist, yet underrated by the general public, is a multi-talented singer-songwriter and poet with great potential, it only takes one listen to understand it.
She made her debut in 2017 and through the years, she has refined her art and sophisticated her musical universe thanks to her versatility and perfectionism. Davina is one of those rare artists who exude a certain obviousness in their music, the one you can feel deep down in your soul.
It’s been two years since she released her last project, and she’s back in the game today with this song “Pray For Me”, the lead single off her forthcoming EP Ase, which is supported by HelpMusicians UK and the MOBO Trust, an ddue to be released on the 29th of September.
Described as a flowing lyricist and songwriter about life, love and spirituality, with an uncommon ease of putting words to her experiences and feelings, her latest track is an ode to vulnerability and honesty that the singer-songwriter describes as her “release of pain to dance to”.
The song is driven by a mellow and angelic vibe – wrapped in a jazz, R&B and Afro-fusion beat and comes with a simple but elegant music video in which the songstress is portrayed in moments of her life, surrounded by friends. The beauty of this video is that its simplicity translates into a return to the essential, just like her lyrics.
