Desiigner has just dropped his second major single and the follow-up record to his massively-popular, yet controversial breakthrough hit (and one time Billboard No. 1) “Panda”.
The song, entitled “Moon People”, also includes contributions from Boyd. It’s laidback, tinkling and spaced out, like being on the moon, indeed. The restrained piano is somewhat at odds with the more animated aspects of the track, but actually melds with them quite well.
The vocals appear to be autotuned, again, furthering that effect. In fact, autotune makes some of the crazy flows sound even more off the wall. So much so, perhaps, they are transmissions from the Moon, the voice, raps, distorted in their journey back to Earth.
