Disney Drops New ‘Aladdin’ Clips, TV Spots And Poster | Film News

Disney has now released two new clips, two TV spots, and a new poster for the upcoming Aladdin. The upcoming adaptation is based on the 1992 classic animated movie, and it’s directed by Guy Ritchie, starring two-time Oscar nominee Will Smith as the Genie, alongside Mena Massoud (Amazon’s Jack Ryan) as Aladdin and Naomi Scott (Power Rangers) stars as Princess Jasmine.

The movie is produced by Dan Lin (The LEGO Movie) with Golden Globe winner Marc Platt (La La Land), Jonathan Eirich (Death Note) and Kevin De La Noy (The Dark Knight Rises) as executive producers.

The music is fundamental in the movie, if you have seen the 1992 animated film you’ll probably know “A Whole New World”, the song won Best Original Song at the Academy Awards. Eight-time Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken, who composed songs for hit movies such as Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid, will provide the score.

It includes new recordings of the original songs written by Menken and Oscar-winning lyricists Howard Ashman (Little Shop of Horrors) and Tim Rice (The Lion King) as well as two new songs written by Menken and Oscar and Tony Award-winning songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, Dear Evan Hansen).

Marwan Kenzari (as Jafar), Navid Negahban (as the Sultan), Nasim Pedrad (as Jasmine’s friend Dalia), and Billy Magnussen (as new character Prince Anders) also star in Aladdin.

I am very curious to watch this movie, as Aladdin with many others Disney movie made up my childhood and the one of many others 90’s kids. The film opens May 24, but in the meantime check out the Aladdin clip, TV spots, and poster below.
