‘Doctor Who’ Nominated For GLAAD Media Award | TV News

Many will agree that over the years, Doctor Who has become a TV show which is worth racing home from work and quickly put on the TV for. However, the gripping stories, the thousands of viewers and the representation of society today are not the reasons why the show has been nominated for a Best Individual Episode award at the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards. The reason for the nominations nod – for its inclusion of lesbian couple Madame Vastra and Jenny in their eighth series premiere episode titled ‘Deep Breath’. The annual GLAAD ceremony pays tribute to the people of the LGBT community, and those who have represented the community in the media and through entertainment.
