Doja Cat is launching her own marketplace for NFTs under the name Juicy Drops.
NFT stands for non-fungible token. These are unique digital pieces, certified by the blockchain, and which can be exchanged for a tidy sum, especially in the field of contemporary art. To own the title to an image, video, piece of music or even a tweet, millions of dollars are at stake.
Doja is embarking on this new adventure in partnership with Intellectable Holdings, a new NFT-focused company founded by 20-year music executive Shannon Schlappi. She has previously worked for brands such as Etix, Eventbrite and Doomtree Records.
This Friday, April 23, to mark the release of Juicy Drops, Doja Cat will unveil her own collection of NFTs in collaboration with toy designer BOOMTRONIC. This one will be inspired by her last performance at the Grammy Awards, last month.
This collection includes 6 colors of NFTs offered in two tiers of available quantities and price points. It would seem that if we bought all 6, there will be a chance of getting a very rare mystery one that won’t be up for sale.
“I’m helping to launch my NFT company so that I can actually own and control my art” she explains.
The first collection will include 3D visuals of a spinning metallic Doja image in a gilded frame, and an image of her cat Raymus.
