Dolce & Gabbana’s New Collection ‘Alta Moda’ Is Frida Kahlo Inspired | Fashion News

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabanna recently presented their new ‘Alta Moda‘ collection in Mexico City.

With this new collection, they were inspired by one of the most notable icons of Mexican culture, poetess Frida Kahlo. It’s the first time that Dolce & Gabanna have debuted their works in a Latin American country. The designers said that they were inspired by Mexico due to its colours, flowers and traditions.

In their collection, they used an abundance of lace, jewels, religious imagery like the Virgin of Guadalupe; it even included a cassock that they were bought a few days ago in the city’s cathedral and their dressmakers made into a dress in less than 24 hours.

Another surprise was that Italian actress Sophia Loren appeared in the fashion show as the honoured guest with the creatives designers.
