With a few features this year, the Cactus Jack Records artist is back in business and has just released the video for “What You Need“, a track from his upcoming project.
The videoclip was shot in Colombia two months ago and directed by Nabil, who has previously worked with the likes of Kanye West, Frank Ocean, Billie Eilish, Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott and Kendrick Lamar.
A very simple but powerful message opens the music video: “Justicia Para Colombia”, in support of the current protests taking place in the country.
Colombia is currently experiencing one of its most important political crisis in recent years, and for several days, the Colombian people have been demonstrating in the streets against the government’s tax reforms. These manifestations have been violently crushed by the police, resulting in numerous deaths and injuries.
Kali Uchis, who collaborates with Don Toliver on this track, appears at the very beginning of the music video. We are shown the Colombian-American singer praying before we discover a sublime panoramic shot of the city.
This year, Don Toliver has worked on some great collaborations, such as “Lemonade” with Nav, Gunna and Internet Money and “Mystery Lady” with Masego.
His latest project Heaven Or Hell, released in 2020, has been so successful that it recently reached one billion streams on Spotify.
Don Toliver will also soon be featured on a track with Lil Uzi Vert and Gunna, as announced by the Internet Money label.
