Canadian superstar Drake hit the charts with aplomb with his #1 album Scorpion. Amongst all the tracks that have been doing the rounds, one that you just can’t escape is “In My Feelings“. Thanks to the effort of The Shiggy Show, the viral hit has now been graced with a music video with all the nostalgia to match it.
The Karena Evans-directed music video revolves, with no surprise, around Drake’s love interest ‘Kiki’ – played by Lala Anthony – as he aims to charm the woman with a few smooth lines and promises as she looks on from her window, before being stopped in his tracks by her mom (the legendary Phylicia Rashad) at the neighbouring balcony.
But the video as a whole is an explosion out colour and dance as Drizzy pays homage visually and sonically to the city of New Orleans – birthplace of his once mentor Lil Wayne, with cameos from Shiggy himself, City Girls‘ Yung Miami as well as New Orleans icon Big Freedia.
At the end of the video, Drake wakes up in his production trailer, where he reveals it was all a dream, but not before being joined by Shiggy once again as one of the PAs on set.
