Earliest Known John Lennon Letter To Be Sold At Auction | Music News
The earliest known of John Lennon’s hand-written letters is to be sold at auction next month. Reports claim the letter was written in 1951, when Lennon was just 11 years old.
The letter, which was written to thank his aunt for her Christmas gifts (including a personalised towel and a book about ships), is expected to sell for more than £30,000. Given earlier Beatles memorabilia exceeding their auction value and going for prices £1,000,000 plus, £30,000 seems a pretty low estimate.
The letter is to be sold by online auction house, TracksAuctions.com – it is part of a collection including around 300 items, with the auction closing on April 3.
