Platinum selling singer/songwriter Ellie Goulding release her highly anticipated, new single “Sixteen“.
Co-written by Ellie Goulding, RAYE and FRED, “Sixteen” is a slice of nostalgia for her fans. Goulding uses the track to reminisce about her youth as a rebellious teenager. The new earworm, produced by Ian Kirkpatrick, FRED and Mike Wise, sees Ellie’s distinctive vocals climb over a catchy, propulsive beat.
Speaking on the new single, Ellie explains: “I’m so excited to share ‘Sixteen’ with everyone. That age was such a pivotal year for me in many ways and this song is so close to my heart. It takes me back to the reckless days of being a teenager and I hope it reminds us all about the innocence of youth.”
“Sixteen” follows on from “Flux“, which saw Ellie strip the production back with a simple accompaniment of piano and strings. Ellie is an accomplished artist, with two BRIT Awards and over 14 million albums sold but she has other passions. A global environmental ambassador for The UN on her off days as well as involvement in other philanthropic ventures.
Look out for her original track on the first-ever Game of Thrones soundtrack, For the Throne – Music Inspired by the HBO Series, out April 26.
