‘Emily In Paris’ Star Philippine Leroy Beaulieu Joins ‘The Crown’

Emily In Paris fans will be excited to hear that Philippine Leroy Beaulieu will appear in the fifth season of The Crown.

The award-winning actress played the chief marketing officer, Sylvie Grateau, in the American comedy-drama, Emily in Paris. The series was created by Darren Star, premiered on Netflix in October, 2020, and was nominated for a Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy award.

Now the 58-year old French actress will be returning to Netflix to appear in The Crown. The fifth season will be covering the divorce between Princes Charles and Princess Diana, as well as Diana’s tragic death.

Beaulieu will be playing Monique Ritz, the widow of Charles Ritz who owned the Paris hotel where Diana spent her final evening before the fatal car crash in August 1997.

The Emily In Paris actress will be starring alongside Imelda Staunton, Dominic West and Elizabeth Debicki who will be playing Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles and Princess Diana, respectively. Senan West, Dominic West’s son, will be playing a 15-year-old Prince William in the series.

Speaking about her upcoming role, Beaulieu said that “it was a very small thing but it was a lot of fun and I was so, so happy to be in it. Every episode is like a little film on its own. It’s crazily well written”.

Season 5 of The Crown is set to air on Netflix in November, 2022.
