As Jonathan Akeroyd departs Alexander McQueen in pursuit of other interests, his replacement as CEO has been under much speculation.

Akeroyd has been at the luxury fashion brand for 12 years and played a strong role in the “growth and the international expansion of the brand, making it one of the most recognised British luxury fashion brand in the world” so say the company.

It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the person taking over the helm is a current employer of Kering, Alexander McQueen’s mother company. Emmanuel Gintzburger is Yves Saint Laurent’s Worldwide Retail and Wholesale Director up until next week when he will be taking over as McQueen’s CEO.

Due to Akeroyd’s strong relationship with Creative Director of McQueen, Sarah Burton, it is unclear as to whether Burton will also remain at the label.
