‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’ Film Adaptation Is In The Works | Film News

 

There’s a new West End musical which everyone in the UK is talking about and soon it will be adapted into a film. Everybody’s Talking About Jamie started out as the BBC Three documentary Jamie: Drag Queen at 16 before it got turned into the Apollo Theatre musical and now finally, in a few months, you will be able to see it at the movies.

 

In the original documentary, Jamie is a boy who wants to go to prom with a dress. He is scared about being bullied so he makes his mind and decides to reach every kind of TV station to get cameras and professional film crew so he can not be bullied.

 

Jamie decided to make his story a musical. In fact, he started directing his small piece in a local theatre in Sheffield before famous West End producer Nica Burns brought it to London and make it a huge success which got an early Olivier Award nomination.
