Fendi Unveils Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2021 Collection | Fashion News
With shows being virtual due to current restrictions, Fendi knew that their latest show for their Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2021 collection would have to be like no other and that they would have to alter their original vision, and we are definitely amazed by the creative talent involved in their new fashion show on and off screen.
We were dazzled by the looks of iconic supermodels such as Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington and Kate Moss, and also joining this iconic trio were Kate’s daughter Lila Grace, Bella Hadid, Adwoa Aboah, Farida Khelfa, Eugenia Dubinova and Cara Delevingne, all walking for Fendi.
We even saw Demi Moore open the runway at the virtual presentation, the actress known for films such as Striptease, G.I. Jane and Songbird, told fans on social media site Instagram that the best way she could describe her surprise debut was “Fulfilling a teenage dream”. Other notable models such as Kiki Willems stated, “Honored to be part of your first Fendi show and this insane cast”.
It was enthralling to know that British designer Kim Jones made their debut for Fendi with this Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2021 collection. Kim leapt to socials and shared the following, “Thank you to the wonderful cast that made this happen true friends and family”. This cast also included male models such as James Turlington, Thatcher Thornton and Ludwig Wilsdorff.
We all cherish the moment when we receive handwritten letters from loved ones, and what made this collection even more special was that letters written by Virginia Woolf and British author Vita Sackville-West were read aloud during the show. Having this in addition to pieces with Virginia’s quotes on, one can assume very much that Kim Jones was inspired by Virginia Woolf’s novel Orlando.
The question on all of our minds is who might inspire Kim’s next collection. We are very excited for Kim Jones journey and what the designer has planned next. For any of you interested in exploring the collection further, relive the show, which took place at the historic Palais Brongniart, below.
I hope you enjoyed the collection, please find some of our best looks from the fashion show and let me know your thoughts on the new collection.
