First Trailer For Jeremy Saulnier’s ‘Green Room’ Follow-Up ‘Hold The Dark’ | Film Trailer

Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for upcoming psychological thriller Hold The Dark, which is director Jeremy Saulnier‘s follow-up to his acclaimed 2015 horror-thriller, Green Room.

The film takes place in northern Alaska and revolves around a retired naturalist and wolf expert who teams up with a young mother to search the wilderness for a pack of wolves that apparently killed her young son. At the same time, her husband returns home from Iraq to learn that his son is dead, which ignites a series of increasingly violent events.

The trailer has a similar atmosphere to not only Green Room, but perhaps even more so Saulnier’s previous film to that, neo-western Blue Ruin. The clip above also doesn’t give much away, and thanks to the success of his previous film, anticipation will be high for this. It’s also the second trailer in two days from Netflix, after Outlaw King, that looks very promising.

Hold The Dark stars Jeffrey Wright, Riley Keough, Alexander Skarsgard, and James Badge Dale. The film will initially premiere at Toronto International Film Festival next month, before hitting Netflix globally on Friday, September 28.
