Forest Whitaker Joins ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ Cast | Film News

With the recent news around Gareth Edward’s anthology Star Wars: Rogue One, cast rumours are coming in thick and fast. With the likes of Ben Mendelsohn cast as the villain, and Diego Luna as one of the rebel fighters, it comes as a surprise to see that Forest Whitaker has been cast as an unknown for the film. Variety report that the Panic Room actor will now be part of the new spin-off and standalone Star Wars films.

Is it going to be another Marvel Universe? Well, judging by the direction Gareth Edwards wants to portray, he will follow similar suit to the old generation of Star Wars films. The separate universe will be exploiting the gap between the Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. Fans will hopefully rejoice for this new chapter. But will it be more of a success than the upcoming trilogy?
