French Cameroonian Artist Dirtsa Releases New Single ‘Underdog’ | Music News

Introducing 22-year old Franco-Cameroonian rap and R&B artist Dirtsa with her brand new single “Underdog”, which is produced by Majiin.

The single comes released with an accompanying music video, which has already amassed over 40,000 views on YouTube, in just over a week, and it comes supported by the likes of Fashionably-Early and Fresh: Hip-Hop & R&B. The track also serves as the latest precursor to Dirtsa’s forthcoming debut project, which is due later this year.

Tapping into her dual French and Cameroonian heritage, Dirtsa offers up strong afrotrap sensibilities with anglophone influences, but she never lets herself to be boxed in by genre, as she can switch between club bangers and ballady R&B. Combine that with self-awareness and her readiness to challenge the status quo, and you get an artist that is worth keeping an eye on.

Speaking about the inspiration being the track, Dirtsa says, “Underdog represents a duty of remembrance to my ancestors but also to the men and women who fought and stand up for the black cause all around the world. It’s inviting you to remember their actions and to keep fighting peacefully for more representation“.
