French-Cuban Twin Duo Ibeyi Return With New Single ‘Recurring Dream’ | Music News

 

It has been two years since we last heard from French-Cuban twin duo Ibeyi, Naomi and Lisa-Kaindé Diaz. Their last song was “Cleo Who Takes Care Of You” released two years ago and part of a compilation of songs inspired by Alfonso Cuarón’s movie Roma.

 

They have made their comeback with the release of their last single “Recurring Dream”, this new track is from the official soundtrack of a brand-new film How To Stop A Recurring Dream.

 

The movie is about teenager who has kidnapped her youngest sister so that they don’t have to be apart from each other. It is the first movie from Ed Morris, who has worked with Ibeyi previously on their music videos for “River”, “Ghost” and “Deathless”.

 

The director is a good friend of the sisters, who said about this nw collaboration, “I always felt that he understood our music and knew how to translate it into powerful images… How wonderful it is to find someone with who creating is always such a wonderful adventure.”

 

This new single is a pop electronic song produced by Richard Russel from XL Recording, who previously worked with the sisters on his Everything Is Recorded project.

 

“Recurring Dream” is sweet music with a great rhythmic and deep vocals that hypnotise the listeners and dig them into the sisters’ unique universe.
