Gemma Arterton & Terrence Stamp Join Netflix Comedy ‘Murder Mystery’ | Film News

Gemma Arterton and Terrence Stamp are two of the latest names to join the cast of Netflix’s upcoming comedy, Murder Mystery. The duo, alongside Olafur Darri Olafsson and Dany Boon, will be added to a cast that already includes Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston and Luke Evans, as production is set to kick off in Montreal soon.

Kyle Newacheck (Game Over, Man!) is directing the comedy which will see Sandler’s New York City cop take his wife (Aniston) on a long promised European holiday. But a chance meeting with a mysterious man (Evans) on a flight gets them invited to an intimate family gathering aboard the yacht of an elderly billionaire. When he is found murdered, they become the prime suspects.

James Vanderbilt (Zodiac) has penned the screenplay for the film which will be Netflix’s sixth collaboration in their overall deal with Sandler. Also joining the cast are Luis Gerardo Mendez, Shioli Kutsuna, David Walliams, Adeel Akhtar and John Kani.

That’s a pretty well rounded cast for a Happy Madison comedy, and with a screenwriter behind one of the best films of the 2000s penning the script, perhaps Murder Mystery has some promise. The plot looks to have similar beats to the recent comedy hit Game Night, and if the film can get anywhere close to the quality of that, Netflix will have a hit on their hands.
