George Lucas Has Seen ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ And ‘Really Liked It’ | Film News

It’s a question that’s alluded many fans – “Will the Star Wars master approve of Episode VII?” Despite having no involvement with Disney’s upcoming blockbuster Star Wars: The Force Awakens, George Lucas has watched J.J Abrams’ creation and has claimed he “really liked it”.

Due to his lack of involvement, there has been considerable speculation over whether the space saga creator would endorse the film, but it seems he decided to go with the flow and accept it. Speaking in an interview with The Washington Post this week, Lucas confirmed that he was better off not being involved: “There is no such thing as working over someone’s shoulder. You’re either the dictator or you’re not. And to do that would never work, so I said ‘I’m going to get divorced’… I knew that I couldn’t be involved. All I’d do is make them miserable. I’d make myself miserable. It would probably ruin a vision — J.J. Abrams has a vision, and it’s his vision”.

Personally, I’m very interested to hear Lucas’ views in more detail after the film’s release. Now you know that he liked the film, do you consider this a good or a bad sign?
