Green Day’s Frontman Not Happy With This Year’s VMAs | Music News

Green Day’s frontman Billie Joe Armstrong was not happy with this years MTV VMAs and has accused the show of forgetting about rock. After watching the show Armstrong took to Twitter to vent his frustration at the lack of rock and roll performers. In a first tweet he said “just watched VMAs. seriously @MTV not a single young rock n roll band?”. He has also made claims that there was plenty of room for MTV to show a rock band in between the pop artists that performed that night.

In a second tweet Armstrong wrote “there r great up and coming rock bands headlining festivals AND on social media. what thee hell?” Radio announcer @brownypaul replied to Armstrong’s tweet “@BJAOfficial to be honest, MTV hasn’t exactly been supportive of “Rock Music” ever right? So many bands killing it and no acknowledgement!”
