HBO Unveils Full Trailer For ‘Euphoria’ Starring Zendaya | TV Trailer

HBO has unveiled the trailer for Euphoria, it’s upcoming series starring Zendaya, and based on the Israeli drama series of the same name. The series follows a group of young high schoolers who navigate through drug, sex, trauma, social media, love and friendship.

The TV show is described as “Kids meet Trainspotting“, and sees Zendaya playing the lead role named Rue, who is dealing with her drug addiction. The character is a far cry from her roles on Disney Channel’s Shake It Up and K.C Undercover and her role as Michelle in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home alongside Tom Holland’s Peter Parker.

Interviewing on Vanity Fair, the Spider-Man actress said about the show “To me, Euphoria is one of the rawest, honest looks at what it looks like now to be a young person. It’s definitely different than what I’ve ever done before”.

Sam Levinson wrote and created the series, and he previously written and directed last year’s Sundance entry Assassination Nation. Superstar rapper Drake is the producer of the show with A24, which delivered critically acclaimed movies such as Moonlight and Lady Bird.

Storm Reid, Maude Apatow, Algee Smith, and Eric Dane are also in the series, which will be part of HBO’s post–Game of Thrones era. Euphoria will premiere on Sunday, June 16. Watch the full trailer below:
