Guy Richie‘s up and coming flick The Man From U.N.C.L.E gets its first trailer starring Superman himself, Henry Cavill and this time he’s in the swinging sixties. The television show from which the film is based, follows the story of secret agents who worked for the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement aka U.N.C.L.E. Also starring Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger, The Social Network), the film works as a origin story of sorts, showcasing how CIA agent Napoleon Solo (Cavill) and KGB operative Illya Kuryakin (Hammer) joined forced to stop a mysterious criminal operation.
I’m a fan of Richie’s other work from Lock Stock to the new Sherlock flicks and I like that you can recognize his fun, tongue in cheek humour within this latest trailer. The trailer looks stylish, a little silly and action packed, exactly what you’d want from a spy thriller. Both Cavill and Hammer are as aesthetically pleasing in their 60’s get up as you’d imagine, and look as if they’re going to be the perfect partners in non-crime. Also staring Hugh Grant, Alicia Vikander, Jared Harris and Elizabeth Debicki, The Man From U.N.C.L.E hits theatres on August 14, 2015.
