Horror Maestro John Carpenter Debuts New Track ‘Night’ | New Music

Famed Horror movie director John Carpenter is to release his debut non-soundtrack album Lost Themes on February 3 through Sacred Bones Records, and will feature all new compositions written as standalone pieces. A digital deluxe version of the album will also be available with remixes by various artists including Zola Jesus and Dean Hurley, JG Thirlwell and ohGr of Skinny Puppy. A newly released track “Night” is available to stream via the label’s SoundCloud page.

As an icon in his field, writing and directing such cult classics as Halloween, Big Trouble in Little China and Dark Star, John Carpenter is often forgotten as the composer of his own movie scores. A renaissance auteur and a clever composer, his album draws from his movie scores and will no doubt intrigue those familiar with his work and entice those new to his music.
