‘House Of Cards’ Adds Diane Lane & Greg Kinnear To Cast For Final Season | TV News

House Of Cards halted production on its sixth season months ago when the sexual harassment and assault allegations emerged regarding star Kevin Spacey. The show dropped Spacey from the cast and postponed production as they decided what to do with what is set to be the final season of the show. Eventually, Netflix decided to go ahead with Robin Wright as the sole lead.

Production has now resumed on the final season of the show, and Netflix has announced two big additions to the cast. Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear have both landed roles in the final season, although it’s unknown at this time what characters they will be playing. Political people with their eye on megalomaniacal power is probably a safe bet.

There’s no word from Netflix on when the final season will air, but with production under way it will possibly be this year. We do know that it will be a significantly shorter season than the usual 13 episodes.

Intrigue will obviously swirl around how Spacey’s Frank Underwood is written out of the show, but the additions of Lane and Kinnear to an already stellar cast should make the final season worth watching, even if the show has lost the edge it had in the first two seasons.
