After much speculation, it is confirmed that ILoveMakonnen has left OVO and is still signed to Warner Brothers. He has arguably departed from the label that houses one of the biggest artists in the scene, Drake.
His work ethic sees him add yet another song to his arsenal with “Can’t Let It Go”. This work features the talents of Lil B, also known as ‘The Based god’. Apparently the latter is very selective with his features, and what is more, the two are hinting at a possible tour together this summer.
The song opens with what could be construed as being overly processed, like when a digitally pressed copy of a copy becomes yet another copy. This is daresay done deliberately. Then there is a touch of tragic keyboard in the melody. The vocals of ILoveMakonnen seem like Biz Markie in singing mode, and Lil B’s raps concern self assessment, in a flattering light, of course, and generally handling fame.
