Inspirational Style At 2015 Met Gala | Fashion

Started by publicist Eleanor Lambert in 1948, as a benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Custome Institute and with Anna Wintour being its co-host since 1995, the Met Gala has raised more than $145 million for the Custome Institute and has attendees willing to pay $25,000 for an indivual ticket or commiting to a minimun of $175,000 for a table of 10, where back in the day, tickets were generally bought by individuals of New York’s socialite, unlike today, when most are bought by companies such as Burberry, Chanel and Versace.

Just the evening itself represents an immense investment of time and work force as well as money on the part of Condé Nast and for designers at the red carpet representing the exclusive guest list. This year’s event was inspired by the Chinese aesthetics’ influence on Western fashion to coincide with one of the exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City: China Though The Looking Glass. I leave you here with the most well dressed and inspirational styles of the evening.
