Jake Miller – Last Text | New Music

Yesterday, Billboard premiered exclusively “Last Text”, a brand-new single by US music artist Jake Miller.

Jake Miller is an American singer-songwriter, producer and rapper from Florida. Back in 2013, Miller released his debut album Us Against Them, which includes one of the artist most streamed songs “A Million Lives”. Later that same year, Miller went on a national tour to promote it.

A few months ago, Miller released a new EP titled Based on a True Story, which was mostly produced in his own bedroom. He then after dropped an extended version of his latest collection of songs.

Now, Jake is back to share a three-minute story where he puts an end to a painful relationship. In “Last Text”, an acoustic guitar riff accompanies Miller’s melodic voice as he starts pouring his heart out to finally cut a toxic relationship through a single text message.

The peaceful melody played in the beginning starts to build up gradually into a killing beat drop the moment the chorus kicks in. “This is my last try to get through to you/ The last time I cry over you/ I promise this is the last text that I’ll send/ Then you will never hear from me again,” he sings thoroughly the track.

“It’s a very empowering song about finally letting go of something that you’ve been holding onto for too long. I love how it starts off very raw and folky with the acoustic guitar, but then switches up into a very anthemic feel. I can’t wait to play this one on tour!” Miller said in a statement about the track.

“Last Text” was wrote by Miller and rising singer and songwriter Spencer Sutherland, Scott Pelsang and Midnight’s Slavo and it follows “Nervous” and “Ocean Away”, two songs he previously released before starting his tour with Hoodie Allen this autumn.
