Fans of the London artist and BRIT School graduate James Blake may have been holding out for a new album for some time, but few expected it at such short notice. Yesterday Blake announced in an interview with Radio 1’s Annie Mac that his new album, The Colour in Anything would be released that very night on iTunes and streaming services.

The album is the follow up to 2013’s Overgrown, which featured the single “Retrograde”. Blake has enlisted a number of collaborators for the new record, including Roald Dahl illustrator Sir Quentin Blake, producer Rick Rubin, as well as Frank Ocean and Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, who are featured on two songs apiece.
