‘James Bond’ Writers Attached To Asian-Set Thriller | Film News

They have been called “one of Britain’s most successful screenwriting partnerships“, having co-written the James Bond films from The World Is Not Enough to the most recent Spectre. Now, Neil Purvis and Robert Wade will be giving their valuable services to director Nicolas Winding Refn for what has been described as “an asian-set thriller“.

Winding Refn, director of such films as Drive and Only God Forgives, is currently adding the finishing touches to The Neon Demon, a thriller set in Hollywood and starring Keanu Reeves, Elle Fanning and Christina Hendricks. It is believed he will be teaming up with the British duo for his next feature but unfortunately there is nothing more to go on for the moment.

Winding Refn, Purvis and Wade are already working together on a separate project: the Amazon-backed TV series Barbarella. Based on the 1968 film starring Jane Fonda in the titular role, Barbarella tells the story of a beautiful adventurer and her sexy space adventures.

News on this is also scarce and it is not known how the trio will make a project more than just a teenager’s sexual fantasy. However, it seems they gelled together well enough to work together a second time, making their film collaboration something to keep an eye out for.
