Jarvis Cocker (frontman of Pulp) has shared “Theme from Likely Stories“, the theme song for Neil Gaiman’s new TV show of the same name. It will also be the first track on Cocker’s new EP which is also called Likely Stories. This will be his first solo release since 2009’s Further Complications.

“Theme from Likely Stories” is an eerie, slow piece which features Cocker’s creepy, whispered vocals and chilling synths from Portishead’s Adrian Utley. Drums and guitars softly play in the background, and the track finishes which a truly unsettling group vocal chant.

When talking about the project, Cocker spoke of the experience: “Four grubby tales set in all night cafes, low rent drinking dens and doctor’s surgeries. I didn’t have to leave my comfort zone for this assignment“. Listen to the song on Spotify below. The Likely Stories EP is out May 27, the day after the show’s premiere on BBC.
