As part of his Jeffery pseudonym project, Young Thug and Wyclef Jean have come together for the track, “Elton”, set to be from his Jeffery mixtape. Produced by Wheezy and Cassius Jay, the track comes after rumours that Young Thug was making a name change to his given name, with titles of No, My Name Is Jeffery even slated to be his performing name. The track feels very different to traditional Young Thug tracks, with a more afro-samba feel to it.
The collaboration has received social flak after Wyclef Jean’s involvement in the supposedly fraudulent Yele Haiti charity (known for spending over $9 million on “travel”), with some wondering why Young Thug would get involved with such a corrupt person.
