JK Rowling has caused uproar among Potter fans after revealing why Harry Potter named his son Albus Severus after his potions Professor – Professor Snape. Rowling revealed the reasons on twitter, responding to a question from a follower, claiming that “Snape died for Harry out of love for Lily. Harry paid him tribute in forgiveness and gratitude“.

This did not appease the fanbase however, and twitter became awash with fans arguing Rowling’s reasoning. One fan wrote, ““he died to save the wizarding world. WHAT ABOUT REMUS, BLACK, DUMBLEDORE, TONKS, FRED, MRS WEASLEY RON HERMIONE????“. Rowling, however, defended her decision, not with anger but with reason, tweeting after the debate, “Well, thanks to everyone who participated in today’s unplanned debate: ‘Snape: Good, Evil or What?’ People to dinner – got to go! xxx“.
