John Boyega’s Mates Thought He Was Only An Extra In ‘Star Wars’ | Film News
John Boyega has revealed that his friends thought he only had a bit part in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Boyega, who stars as new hero Finn, described how he took his mates to the film’s London premiere, only for them to exclaim “Yo, John, I never knew you were in the movie for so long – I thought you were an extra“!
Previously, the Peckham-born and bred actor’s only major acting credit was in British sci-fi flick Attack The Block, directed by Joe Cornish of Adam and Joe fame. And the 23 year old admitted that he even shed a tear when he saw his character’s name feature so prominently in the new Star Wars screenplay.
John Boyega – we salute you!
