Jungle Brown + Sampa The Great – We On | New Music

 

Ahead of another sun drenched weekend in the UK, hip hop collective Jungle Brown have teamed up with the brilliant Sampa the Great on their new track “We On”, a the serve up the perfect roundup to the summer.

 

Utilising a familiar sample from Kool & The Gang’s classic “Summer Madness”, “We On” encapsulates that late summer vibe, as the pairing deliver a contemporary boom bap classic. Mistajam has already jumped on board, making the track his ‘Track Of The Week’ on his BBC 1Xtra show next week.

 

The trio, Ric Flo, MAEAR and Tony Bones have spent the last two years redefining soulful hip-hop – they drop the single ahead of their new album entitled Full Circle, which is out next Friday on legendary label Mr Bongo.

 

We’ve had a preview listening and we’re happy to report that amongst the soulful boom bap there’s plenty of contemporary rap and trap beats, which keeps the ear eager to discover more. With featured artists including Fliptrix (High Focus) and Terri Walker, it’s certainly an eclectic rap release to look out for.

 

To celebrate the album release, Jungle Brown play an album launch party on the day of release at London’s Old Blue Last and continue on to mini UK tour throughout October. Full listings and ticket information can be found here.

 

Jungle Brown – the sound is bigger, more thought-provoking, and has matured with a rich soulful underpinning. On the road Jungle Brown have shared the stage with the likes of De La Soul, Ghostface Killah, Lowkey, Akala and Donaeo, and have played major festivals including Glastonbury, Boomtown and Lovebox as well as a huge number of clubs shows across the UK.
