After an explosive performance at the BRIT Awards, an emotional interview with Zane Lowe, appearing as musical guest on the Jonathon Ross show, speaking at Oxford University, plus assisting Yeezy Boost customers at the Adidas store, Kanye West’s world domination from his time in London continues. Last night (March 3), he announced and performed a surprise gig at KOKO, billed along with Grime veteran Skepta, bringing out some special guests and unveiling another new track from his upcoming album So Help Me God.
Yeezy was again joined on stage by Grime emcees including JME, Novelist and Meridian Dan, with Skepta performing “That’s Not Me” and his Drake sampling new single “Shutdown”, while Meridian Dan performed “German Whip”, JME performed “96 F**keries” and Novelist performed “It’s Not Safe”, sandwiched between Kanye’s setlist. Skepta has reportedly also been in the studio with West during his current visit to the UK.
Other artists to hit the stage included Big Sean who performed “Blessings” and “IDFWU” from his recent album, as well as G.O.O.D. Music’s Cyhi the Prince. Kanye performed his new tracks “All Day” and “Wolves” and also used the opportunity to premiere “U Mad” which featured Vic Mensa.
Towards the end of the show, Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon came out to perform “C.R.E.A.M”, before Kanye ended with “Blood on the Leaves” and a repeat of “All Day”. Check out footage of the show here as well as the full setlist below.
