Just after taking over from David Letterman, Stephen Colbert kicked off his own The Late Show With Stephen Colbert in grand style as he quickly blended with the show and he also brought along his loyal followers from his previous satirical news show The Colbert Report. Last night (September 9), The Late Show With Stephen Colbert had its first musical guest as it played host to the American rapper Kendrick Lamar.

Kendrick Lamar brought a mind blowing 7-minute medley to The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. It’s a coincidence that Kendrick is the first musical guest since the host took over from David Letterman. He was also the final musical guest on Colbert’s previous show, The Colbert Report. On this occasion, Kendrick combined four songs from To Pimp A Butterfly in berserk, rejigged fashion. Merging “Wesley’s Theory”, “Momma”, “King Kunta” and “U”, this was a classic performance of songs from his 2015 LP.
