Kim Jones has just unveiled his brand new Dior Men’s Resort Collection for fall 2022, as he celebrates his third year as the menswear artistic director within Dior.
Usually known for regular collaborations with contemporary and modern artist as KAWS, Daniel Arsham, Amoako Boafo, Kenny Scharf and Peter Doig for the past few seasons, the English designer is now creating a collection on his own, with a different approach for this season, driven by a pure line of clothing with simple and classic lines
To find his inspiration, he has searched into the Dior archives, and has turned to the 1960s style and patterns of Marc Bohan, the renowned creative designer who was the head of the label for almost 30 years. Indeed, Jones has modified Bohan’s famous Dior Oblique pattern in subtle detail that we can see all over the collection. He has also kept the heart-shaped form on jackets and shirts in embroidery.
“Obviously, the customer will recognize and be comfortable in the Dior shapes, but we wanted to play with proportions a bit and look at a way of making tailoring feel less formal, but still really relevant“, Jones said in a statement.
The collection is composed of wide-legged trousers, structured jackets and knitwear with different patterns include leopard patterns, in neutral colours with an autumnal vibe, from khaki to cream, beige and different shades of brown, which, according to the designer, is a compilation of all his favourite colours.
As part of this collection, Dior has also unveiled a pair of sneakers, the B30, with an oversized logo and an aerodynamic construction. This collection is definitely on trend for the forthcoming fall and we recommend you to check out some of the best looks from the collection below.
