King Princess – Upper West Side | Music Video

King Princess is not slowing down any time soon. After releasing her debut EP Make My Bed, the singer has unveiled the music video for her single “Upper West Side“.

The Brooklyn born singer has been making headlines since she released “1950“, the song inspired by the 1952 novel The Price of Salt by Patricia Highsmith. After a lucky quote of her lyrics from Harry Styles himself, King Princess has been doomed as the next big thing.

With an introduction like that, all the eyes were pointed towards what would have follow up next. And the indie-pop darling has certainly met the expectations.

The music video is, of course, set in the city that never sleeps, where the singer was born and raised. A vintage camera layer gives the clip an old-footage vibe, that mirrors the nostalgic feeling that the song tries to convey. Singing about a one-sided love affair, the singer touches relatable themes with lyrics such as “I can’t stop judging everything you do/But I can’t get enough of you“.

“Upper West Side” is just the last jam out of several interesting offerings. With quotable lyrics and a nice, well-crafted pop sound, it almost seems like King Princess can do no wrong. Coming across as a veteran despite her young age, the singer is already happening.
