Korean Artist Will Bug Releases New Single ‘Bottle’

US-based Korean artist Will Bug has released a new single titled “Bottle“. She is best known for appearing on the soundtracks of K-dramas like “Rise Again” from Mr. Sunshine and “You’re Beautiful” from Romance Is A Bonus Book, both of which are on Netflix.

She began creating songs at the age of two and began taking voice lessons at the age of ten, but she never considered writing her own music on a regular basis—until 2019, it was something she did solely when she was inspired, which was roughly every other year.

She creates lyrics that are highly distinctive, honest, and creative (so honest that they are sometimes even humorous), which she likes to call Simp Pop. She switches between her characteristic dreamy, ethereal sound and funky, soulful style.

She is based in New York City, but she belongs to Seoul, South Korea, where she has lived for most of her life. It was easy for her to get into musical theatre after growing up so near to music, and as soon as she did, she made an instant choice to travel to the United States to study theatre and began studying English at the age of 14.

She previously traveled to the Philippines to improve her English skills before coming to the United States at the age of 17. Will Bug’s “Bottle” is a cool, low-key electro-pop elegy full of honesty and oddity.

Ethereal voices are a trademark of the band. Will Bug characterizes the track as “a song that makes you feel good“. She added that, “It was inspired by the time I thought I was not going to see my significant other ever again after he left my place, leaving the bottles behind which reminded me of him so much I couldn’t even touch them“.
