‘Kung Fu Panda 3’ To Make Over $40 Million In China | Film News

Kung Fu Panda, the DreamWorks computer animated comedy martial arts film is set to be a huge hit at the Chinese box office. The film is the third instalment in the franchise which follows Po, voiced by Jack Black.

 

Previously new to the art of Kung Fu, this film sees Po now taking up the role of teacher, handed to him by Master Shifu, voiced by Dustin Hoffman. Other voices include J.K SimmonsBryan Cranston, Angelina Jolie and Chinese cinema legend Jackie Chan.

 

The film is made by both DreamWorks animations and Oriental DreamWorks and this Chinese/American combination is proving successful in the Asian market. According to Deadline, the film is estimated to generate $40-$41 Million at the box office. Kung Fu Panda 3 also has two different versions, one in English and one in Mandarin, which must also be a key component in its mass appeal in the Chinese market.
