Kylie Jenner Becomes The World’s Highest-Paid Celebrity | Culture

The brand new Forbes Report for 2020 proclaims the world’s highest-paid celebrities of the year. In comparison to last year, the list of celebrities had to deal with a $200 million drop in earnings, caused by the global pandemic and cancelled live events.

All in all, celebrities earned $6.1 billions (without taxes and fees) and still made huge profit, even though the past months in the United States were shaped by protests and a lot of political trouble.

Reality TV star Kyle Jenner broke another record and became the highest earning celebrity this year with an incredible amount of $590 million. The sale of 51% of Kylie Cosmetics to publicly traded Coty Inc. in January 2019 wasn’t only a clever business move – it also turned out to be one of the biggest celebrity cashouts of all time.

The young instagram star is worth roughly $900 million and leads this year’s earnings list unrivaled. Her closest competitor is rapper Kanye West, who brought in $170 million. The most profitable deal for him this year was the previous Yeezy sneakers deal with Adidas.

The further ranking takes us on a journey to the world of professional sports. Roger Federer took the 3rd place ($106.3 million) and is now the first tennis player to earn the top spot among athletes on the list, caused by really lucrative endorsement deals.

Football star Cristiano Ronaldo is not only a successful social media star – he also made it into the ranking ($105 million) right behind Roger Federer. Furthermore Lionel Messi, who is the current FIFA Player of the Year and was recently awarded European Golden Shoe for top scorer, made it into the Top 5 of the world’s highest-paid celebrities as well – with earnings of $104 million.
