Lewis Capaldi – Bruises | Music Video

Lewis Capaldi has recently unveiled a new music video for his song “Bruises”, from his chart topping platinum selling album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent. The song is one of the singles (alongside with “Someone You Loved”, “Grace” and “Hold Me While You Wait”), which have provided the singer with international stardom, this year. His debut album has been one of the most successful LPs in the world and was certified platinum in just 10 weeks.

Capaldi talked about this amazing success and the way he gained popularity, during an interview: “I’ve got no clue. What right do I have to be playing arenas?’ is what goes through my head. Impostor syndrome. I’m not better than any of these people, I’m not better at writing songs or singing”.

“Bruises” reflects Capaldi’s music style, which is characterised by powerful piano instrumentals and vocals. The music video is extremely emotional and romantic, and perfectly conveys the theme of the song, which is the bruises of love.

The clip, directed by British creative Emil Nava (Ed Sheeran, Calvin Harris, Pharrell, Rihanna), is set in a bare and rough environment. “‘Cause everyday it’s getting colder” croons the artist, while he appears in a wintery blue-filtered atmosphere. The protagonists of the video are two lovers, who stare at each other, while we are shown flashbacks of their story.

The singer will soon kick off a UK winter tour, as well a 2020 arena tour, which sold out before his album was released.
